Foraging Tour
$75 + HST

5-10 km. 2-5 hours. Leaving from Inn.
Join us for a 2 hour wilderness adventure where you will learn about many edible plants in the forest, estuary, abandoned fields and on ocean beaches. Lunch will be provided, and you can take home all of the wild edibles you find.

Join us for a guided foraging adventure in the surrounding forest and ocean beaches. Bring your bounty back to our kitchen and our Red Seal Chef will teach you how to cook with your wild ingredients.

Join us for a guided foraging adventure in the surrounding forest and ocean beaches. The ingredients you collect in the wilds will be turned into a unique 3 course meal for you by our Chef. *Drinks not included in the meal.
Fire Pit Cooking
$40-$400 (prices vary depending on request)
Have our kitchen prepare ingredients for you to cook in one of our onsite fire pits. Cooks will be available for assistance or to provide expert cooking-with-fire tips. Options include: marinated vegetables, marinated meats, skewers, prepared meats (stuffed, rolled), rack of ribs, fresh seafood, a whole animal for roasting (pig or lamb), etc*, plus all the seasonings, condiments, sides, utensils and dishes you require. *Ingredients depend on market availability.
Garden Harvest Dinner
$60 + HST per person
In late summer and early fall you can harvest your ingredients for dinner right from our garden. Tell our chef the kind of food you like to eat and he will create a 3 course dinner based around your harvest. *Drinks not included in the meal.

Winter *max 6 people per tour guide

X-Country Ski or Snowshoe into Ski Hut
$60 + HST (+$20 per additional person)
Easy to Moderate Difficulty Level
5-10 km. 2-3 hours.
Ski along groomed trails to a rustic cabin with wood stove and cooktop for lunch. You must provide your own skis/snowshoes, and you must arrange for your own transportation to the ski club trail, 10 km from Inn. Hot lunch provided at ski hut.
Backcountry Skiing Rattling Brook Ridge
$120 + HST (+$20 per additional person)
Extreme Difficulty and Skill Level
10-15 km ski. 6-10 hours.
Extreme all day adventure. No trail, just a route. Route begins with a steep climb in deep snow, up to a barren plateau. Once on the plateau there is excellent skiing in all directions, as well as multiple routes back down to the road. You must be experienced and very fit to partake in this tour. You must provide your own skiing equipment, and you must arrange for your own transportation to Rattling Brook (near Windamere Cabins) 25 km from Inn. Lunch and snacks provided.
Snowshoe Indian River Trail
$50 + HST (+$20 per additional person)
Easy to Moderate Difficulty Level
5-11 km snowshoe. 2-4 hours. leaving from the Inn.
The trail follows the beautiful Indian River. The trail has some small hills, and is moderate in difficulty. You must provide your own snowshoes. Lunch provided. Also we will serve you hot chocolate and cookies when you return to the Inn.
Snowshoe Alexander Murray Trail
$75 + HST
Extreme difficulty Level.
8km. 4-10 hours.
A mountain summit style adventure in exposed alpine areas, with deep drifting snow. You must provide your own snowshoes, and you must provide your own transportation to the Alexander Murray trailhead in the town of Kings Point (20km from Inn). Lunch and snacks provided.
Snowshoe to top of Boil’s Hill
$50 + HST
Moderate to Hard Difficulty Level.
6 km. 2-3 hours. Leaves from Inn.
Part trail, part route. Climb to the top of Boil’s Hill, overlooking the town of Springdale, Indian River, and Halls Bay. Lunch provided. Also, we will serve you hot chocolate and cookies when you return to the Inn. Must supply your own snowshoes.

Indian River Trail Hiking Tour

5-11 km. 2-4 hours. leaving from the Inn.
The trail follows the beautiful Indian River. The trail has some small hills, and is moderate in difficulty. Lunch Provided. A drink of your choice will be served when you return to the Inn.
Alexander Murray Trail Hiking Tour
$75 + HST
Moderate to Hard Difficulty Level (big climb, many stairs!)
8 km. 3-6 hours.
Hike to the top of Haypook Mountain, and see the amazing Corner Brook Gorge and waterfall. Lunch and snacks provided. Must arrange for your own transportation to the trail head (20km from Inn).
Alexander Murray Trail + Rattling Brook Falls
$85 + HST
Moderate to Hard Difficulty Level (big climb, many stairs!)
10 km. 5-7 hours.
Hike to the top of Haypook Mountain, and see the amazing Corner Brook Gorge and waterfall. After finishing the hike, meet us again for a short walk into the 800ft Rattling Brook Falls. Lunch and snacks provided. Must arrange for your own transportation to the trail head (20km from Inn), and then to Rattling Brook Falls trailhead (another 5 km).
Rattling Brook Beach Combing 2 hours
$60 + HST
Easy Difficulty Level
5 km. 2 hours.
Walk along a 2.5 km beach to an site of a long gone settlement. This walk allows for excellent coastal bird watching, the opportunity to see whales and icebergs, as well as a chance to get up close to marine life in the intertidal zone. Lunch provided. You must arrange for your own transportation to Rattling Brook. After the walk, feel free to stop by Kings Point Pottery, an award winning craft shop, on your way home.

Cycle to Beachside and Southern Harbour
$80 + HST
Hard Difficulty Level (big hills!)
Mostly paved road.
60 km Return Trip. 3-5 hours. Leaving from Inn.
Ride 25 km on paved roads along the scenic coastal route that passes through the towns of St. Patricks, Little Bay, and finally to Beachside, where we will have lunch on the beautiful Back Cove beach. Then we will ride over dirt roads another 3 km to the remote town of Southern Harbour. Lunch and snacks provided. Guide can carry any items you wish to bring. You must supply your own bicycle and helmet. A drink of your choice will be served when you return to the Inn.
Cycle to Rattling Brook Falls
$90 + HST
Moderate to Hard Difficulty Level (big hills!)
60 km return trip, + 2km hike to Falls. 3-5 hours. Leaving from Inn.
An overland route that climbs overland and descends down into King’s Point, on the ocean. Then follows the coast, under mountains to the 800ft Rattling Brook Falls. Lunch and snacks provided. Guide can carry any items you wish to bring. You must supply your own bicycle and helmet. A drink of your choice will be served when you return to the Inn.
Cycle to Glassy Beach and Saltwater Pond
$80 + HST
Moderate Difficulty Level
Mostly dirt road.
40 km return trip. 3-5 hours. Leaving from Inn.
Ride through the town of Springdale, to it’s eastern edge. Take a quick stop at Glassy Beach (a tiny beach that is miraculously covered in sea glass! Continue riding over winding, dirt roads of rolling hills, with occasional views of the ocean, until you reach ocean pond.Lunch and snacks provided. Guide can carry any items you wish to bring. You must supply your own bicycle and helmet. A drink of your choice will be served when you return to the Inn.
Cycle to Jackson’s Cove and Harry’s Harbour
$100 + HST
Hard Difficulty Level (big hills and a long ride).
90 km return trip. 4-6 hours. Leaving from Inn.
First we ride overland to King’s Point, then we ride out the south side of the harbour, taking in beautiful views of the town of King’s Point and the mountains behind. Then we ride to the end of the peninsula to the rural town of Jackson’s Cove and Harry’s Harbour. Lunch and snacks provided. Guide can carry any items you wish to bring. You must supply your own bicycle and helmet. A drink of your choice will be served when you return to the Inn.
Cycle to Kings Point for lunch at By the Sea Cafe

Moderate to Hard Difficulty Level (big hills!).
45 km return trip. 3-5 hours. Leaving from Inn.
An overland route that climbs overland and descends down into King’s Point, on the ocean. In King’s Point we’ll buy you lunch at the By the Sea Cafe. Cycle from King’s Point to Jackson’s Cove and Harry’s Harbour

Mountain Bike to the Pine forest of West Brook Ecological Reserve
$100 + HST

70 km return trip. Leaving from Inn. 4-6 hours.
(Or 50 km return ride meeting at Springdale Junction 3-5 hours).
Ride on paved roads to Springdale Junction, where we will take a dirt road deep into the backcountry, all the way to one of the only remaining old growth pine forests in Newfoundland. Lunch and snacks provided. Guide can carry any items you wish to bring. You must supply your own bicycle and helmet. A drink of your choice will be served when you return to the Inn.
Mountain Bike from Howley to the Gaff Topsails
$150 + HST
Moderate to Hard Difficulty Level
110km return trip. 4-6 hours
Ride along the abandoned Newfoundland Railway bed across highland barrens into the interior of Newfoundland. Ride to the ancient volcano cone hills known as the Gaff Topsails. This is an excellent trip for seeing moose or caribou. Must arrange own transportation to Howley (100km from Inn). Lunch and snacks provided. Guide can carry any items you wish to bring. You must supply your own bicycle and helmet.
